Dynamic Myofascial Release

What is fascia?

Fascia is a fibrous matrix of connective tissue that weaves through the entire body, crossing all systems, supporting muscles, bones, tendons, ligaments, organs, and nerves. By integrating a global approach to address all of these systems through the fascia, one can experience greater benefit than stretching isolated muscle alone.

How can Dynamic Myofascial Release help me?

Sessions can reduce muscle soreness, increase relaxation, support better sleep, increase blood flow, promote faster recovery, and it can also improve performance, endurance and coordination, as well as increase range of motion. This treatment style is highly compatible with other therapy modalities and training programs.

Am I a candidate for Dynamic Myofascial Release?

Sessions are recommended for anybody experiencing limited or restricted mobility and flexibility, it is safe for clients working to rehabilitate from acute or chronic injuries, general tightness, pain or discomfort in joints and muscles, and even break up scar tissue and adhesions.

What should I expect in a session?

During a session it is recommended to wear non-restrictive clothing.  The client will remain clothed on a treatment table while the therapist moves the client’s body to target the areas of restriction, incorporating compression and tracation, passive and dynamic stretch, proprioceptive neurological facilitation (PNF), and the use of straps to secure a limb to the table to target deeper stretch.

What should I expect after my session?

After a session, feelings of deep relaxation, rejuvenation, improved posture, a decrease in pain perception and an increase in mobility and flexibility are described, along with many additional benefits throughout all systems of the body.  It is recommended to attend 1-3 sessions for optimal results, and ongoing as needed for general maintenance, injury prevention, athletic or rehabilitative recovery, and to maintain flexibility and mobility overall.
